Welcome to the La Vallette Adventure. This is not a history lesson even though Jean de La Vallette was really wounded during a sea battle, captured and served as a galley slave. During this adventure to rescue Jean, you will
be a secret agent who can travel back in time. You will have to employ all your wits and skills, as the journey is full of dangers and riddles that you must solve together with your team. If you are to succeed in your quest you must make full use of the technology that is available. You can use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet and e-Mail to record your journey as you discover the codes and get closer to rescuing the future Grand Master of the Knights. From time to time you will receive help from Mission Control whom you can reach only through e-Mail although sometimes you will also meet Mission Control face to face.
I hope you will enjoy learning by rescuing La Vallette. Remember that our fate is in your hands.

Dear Mission Control, this is not going to be an easy task. It may be different from the usual missions but hopefully worth a try. On the following pages you will find all the resources required by your agents to succeed on their task and hints on how you can help them reach the target. Your agents will need all the encouragement and support you can give them and your enthusiasm is a required ingredient if the outcome is to be successful. This first Mission’s objective is to get the 12 year old agents to rescue La Vallette with the help of modern technology. Of course the new recruits will have to learn all about it and how to use it in order to get to the end of their quest.
I hope you will enjoy this journey of discovery together with your secret agents. Remember that their fate is in your hands.
Supreme Command
I encourage you to support our secret agents on their quest to rescue one of the greatest Grand Masters of the Order of St. John. You may find it strange that I am asking you for help but our agents need all the encouragement they can get. You may go through the adventure with them and help them to understand the technology they require to get to the end. Please let our agents do the hard work. Do not do it for them or they will get paid for nothing. You can ask Mission Control for further assistance and learn more about helping our secret agents. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
